Tornado is the story of a young man who must deal with a crisis, the loss of his horse in a storm. His emotions, as he searches, for his friend are real and show that it is alright to feel fear, and a deep love for another creature. The main character uses his inner strength to persevere in a time that could lead up to impending doom He overcomes the negative forces surrounding him and the story ends happily with the long sought after reunion of a boy and his horse. Our young hero realizes that persistence pays off, not to give up even in the face of possible tragedy, and that even in bad times there are great moments to enjoy. The rich descriptions and the heightened emotions engage the reader right into the life of Eric Bristol making him or her want to jump in to help the young boy. This story is of interest to both boys and girls due to the loving relationship of Eric for Tugger. All children can relate to the love for a pet, their companion and friend.
