The title of this book of poems, Thoughts of the Mind, not only defines the content but it also explains the poetry in general. As I've stated before, life without passion is merely existence. We all have passions of some kind, whether it is for music, family, art, spirituality, or a passion for life itself. The composition of a poem is the manifestation of feelings and thoughts transformed into words and onto paper. It is compiling ordinary words into other, more poetic words. This confronts the reader with the task to re-establish the origin of metaphoric references. I find that poetry is a very powerful, soothing tool by which I can express my thoughts and put into words the feelings conveyed to me by others. Over the years, I along with many people close to me have lost loved ones, dealt with broken relationships and also shared in the joy and beauty of our surroundings. I have used these thoughts and feelings as the basis for this book.
