Legend has it that swans remain silent their entire life. When a swan realizes that their life is about to end, they break their lifetime of silence and sing a parting song to the world. In that song, they share all of the love, joy, and pain that they experienced in their life. In that song, they pass along all of the knowledge that they accumulated, in an attempt to keep that knowledge from being lost.
