As a Memphis native, Brittany Carruthers, 25, was born a writer. She had her first journal at the age of 7 and has not stopped writing since. Her accomplishments would be her writing over 50 children's books that lay aside without illustrations, but are as interesting as they would be without the drawings. She finds the time to read them to her daughter. She is also an inventor, singer, and musician and loves to take time to interact and converse with her 2 year old daughter, Makya. She lives in Memphis, but her plans are to make a living that is comfortable enough for her and her family. Her inspiration is Oprah and how she became connected to the right people at the right time. She feels that through consistent work and focus on the goal, you will get you where you want to be.
