'Elvis was just a DJ' follows Allister 'Ali' Parker and his group of friends as they experience growing up in Letchby, a small sleepy town in North Hertfordshire, where they have lived all their lives. The arrival of Kate Marco and her son James into town alters the destiny of the young friends completely. They start a band and start dreaming of exploring the world. When tragedy strikes they are forced into difficult situations that they feel they are too young to deal with. When Richie disappears to work on a harvest and Erik runs away to chase a musical dream, the group of friends start to fall apart.
