This 1909 biography of polar explorer Sir Leopold McClintock (1819–1907) was published by Sir Clements Markham (1830–1916). McClintock took leave from the navy in 1854 to command a private expedition, financed by Lady Franklin, in search of her husband, and found confirmation that he had died in 1847.
