"Joy's book" is a series of humorous and tender stories about the different fears and difficulties that children have in the first years of their life, such as the one that is felt before the arrival of a brother, the one to go through the hole of the bathtub when the water is removed, the death of a loved one, etc. There is no limit to the imagination and everything is possible following the narrative logic of the initial problem. All the stories are made from the child's perspective and the high dramatic content of the situations they face is faithfully reflected in them. In the story "The mean baby" the girl understands the meaning of her mother's pregnancy and the arrival of a brother or sister and resists by all means to accept it until little by little she understands that it will not be a threat for her but only someone else in the family. Then he completely changes his attitude and receives his little sister with pleasure. A book full of drama and totally from the perspective of the girl protagonist. Julio Millares won the Vargas Llosa Prize for novels and the Imaginaria Prize for children's stories. He lived in Brazil, Italy, France, Mexico and Sweden before returning to his native Argentina. He is a professor at the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Cuyo.
