Aloja maintaining a constant struggle with her feelings that it isn't fair to take on more than one mate, she too finds herself desiring others. Adonis consumed with the need to bring worlds together believes the only way is to interbreed. But Aloja has different ideas. While she sees the error in other people ways, she still is in a constant battle to make peace. She learns she may not be right in her judgments. She not only has to accept others for who they are. She has to accept herself. Drew and Rogueart entended their talents in trying to build the life-like droids. And through untested prototypes risk a possible galactic war with their new found neighbors by presenting them with the so-called safe replacements. Bona Dea and Nayr are also becoming sexually aware, causing confusion and anxiety for Aloja. Adding to her turmoil, her fathers start finding replacements for her mother. Even after all these years, Aloja finds it hard to let go. Adonis will stop at nothing to give Aloja what she wants, including men. He knows she wants him more than anyone else, but if he has to leave her for any length of time, he wants her taken care of.
