A year ago, Azuela ( a.k.a. Chrome) used her flight, armor, and super-strength alongside her fellow heroes to thwart the self-proclaimed savior and conqueror Shiva-a super-intelligent despot with plans to conquer the world. The battle destroyed an entire nation but may have prevented a dark future. Now, two sentient energy beings-the source of Azuela's powers and the powers of those like her-are determined to destroy humanity. Vengeance of the Maelstrom is the second book in the Tragic Heroes Trilogy and Jan-Ives Campbell's third novel. He is also the author of the graphic novel The League of Super Groovy Crimefighters.
