Investment refers to the commitment of funds for future periods against a return which is adequate to induce part with money. This word has a wide variety of contexts such as investment in a house or investment in mutual funds or investment in securities. Investment is considered as the sacrifice of current present valves of money for future rewards. Funds are required for a fairly long term to acquire fixed assets and some for day to day working. Investment is the allocation of monetary resources into some profitable assets to yield some profit in the future over a given period. Investing may be defined as the deployment of funds in available investment opportunities/ economic activity for future returns. Investment means deployment of saving in some investment options for some future period with the initiative of earning an income in present or near future. Investors have to take investment decisions to get a fair valve of appreciation or a regular income on their investments. Most of the investors like to save their money in the traditional investment options like bank fixed deposit, PPF, insurance, post office schemes, and gold, etc. but in today's scenario, large varieties of investment options are available in the market which provides more return at the minimum risk.




Now Indian investors are more aware and well knowledge about new investment avenues like share market securities, real estates, and mutual funds, etc. Investment may be a safe or risky investment. Every investor has different objectives and needs depending upon their age, income,

attitude, preference, qualification, and awareness, etc.
