For Hank and Amy Ramsey, it is supposed to be a fresh start. Rest and relaxation in the country is their intention when they move to Gravel Switch, one of the smallest towns in central Kentucky. Hank suffers from epilepsy and grows medical marijuana to treat his condition, something he cannot do in the city, and the couple finds the massive Queen Anne Victorian they rent to be more than they ever could have asked for.



The Ramseys easily settle into the community, but when the house reveals itself to be more than they bargained for the couple face a nightmare reality far beyond the limits of their imaginations. Their new abode is a portal to a nightmare dimension inhabited by the spirits of the former tenants and controlled by a demon of vampiric strangeness and evil. The spirits of the house have been stirred.



When tragedy strikes they become beholden to local organized crime and they are unable to leave their situation. As Hank's health falls further into deterioration, the couple finds themselves at odds with the locals; vicious members of an ancient cult. With his body falling apart, Hank questions his sanity as events spiral out of his control and the house seems to exert its own agenda on him.
