It is common sense which is not so common anymore. Parents today spend a lot of time getting their children from one activity to another. This book is appropriate for anyone's grandchildren, children and even for themselves. Few are so skilled at these principles that they couldn't benefit from some improvement. This book provides a structured opportunity to discuss the principles that will facilitate leading a successful life. Concepts such as the four phases of life, the importance of values, beliefs, behaviors and attitude are vital to living a successful life and are written in a manner to encourage discussion about these topics. It is less a book to be read than a workshop manual for leading a successful life. The principles presented could benefit people of any age, background or education. The topics presented are timely and valuable. People from 4 to 64 years of age and all walks of life state how a particular topic affects them in their daily life. Some are humorous such as Ellie who contributed to the section on Responding vs Reacting this way, "I got in a fight with my brother and was so mad I hit him in the head with a metal bat (not very hard). I learned I should respond with my words and not react with anger. I learned this because I felt really bad about hurting Colin and because he pretended to be unconscious and I got in trouble with my mom and dad." Some are more serious such as Col.
