Mighty Matilda and the Missing Crown Jewels Lyn Duffy 第1 版

BOOK DESCRIPTION For 9-12 year-old children (and adults), Mighty Matilda and the Missing Crown Jewels is a fast-moving comedy-thriller set in London at the end of this century. History, tradition and technology collide and orphaned, tiara-trash Princess Matilda battles the evil prime minister to save the country and redeem herself. FROM THE BACK COVER Matilda is twelve and will one day have the most boring job in the world. What?s the point of being Queen at the end of the 21st-century? It?s a joke job and she won?t do it. Any wazzo can wave their hand. This makes her dad, the King, do his crown all over Buckingham Palace. When a raven drops a tiny object into his study her dad is terrified and starts acting weird and scary. Something?s up but he won?t talk to Matilda about it. She?s lucky she can turn to the friendly Prime Minister for help. What a shame he?s really the Prime Monster. By the time Matilda discovers the truth he?s used her against her dad, stolen the Crown Jewels and is plotting evil as dark as any medieval monarch?s dungeon. Now Matilda must risk her life to stop him. Being Queen just got serious. Visit www.lynduffy.co.uk for more information.
