When Sheila Traventi discovers she's pregnant with her second child, she's ecstatic. Happily married to her handsome husband, Richard, and the mother of a two- year-old boy, Tim, the future can only be promising. That's until genetic testing uncovers a problem with her fetus forcing her to make a difficult decision. When it comes time to leave the hospital, she is overcome with grief and impulsively steals her dead baby's body. As she travels the streets of Toronto with it bundled closely to her, she finds salvation among its street people. Sheila's journey is revealing, humorous and, at times, heartbreaking. When her past reappears nine years later, she is forced to confront old ghosts and new demons.
