Between Cruelty and Love Zubair Kareem 第1 版

Cruelty and love are typically understood as two opposing concepts. They are like the diverging heads of a horizontal line never close and always running apart from each other. Love as described in this book is not just a romantic feeling; it is a more comprehensive concept, it is a way of life. Statistically speaking most of us, at least most of the time, are neither cruel nor in a state of love. Our values, behaviors, and practices lie somewhere between these two ends. And between these two ends, cruelty and love are many concepts that define us including the concepts of justice and injustice. In this book, these concepts and especially the concepts of justice and injustice are defined, discussed and extrapolated with examples of multiple complex and controversial issues of our times. This leads us to reflect and think out of the box and beyond the commonplace understanding of these ideas. In spite of what seems like a complex nature of these topics, the description is simple and straightforward and easy to understand. The author also proposes a useful scheme that we all could use to analyze and categorize our day to day thought processes, decisions, and actions. The book is not written for any particular group or profession, it is intended for all readers. In today?s physically and electronically interconnected world, when an ideology or action in one part of the world may rapidly impact the other, these concepts become universally important for everybody to understand, reflect, and act upon. The book takes us to a motivating but insightfully intellectual journey to understand these seemingly difficult concepts, which many people have thought privy to only a few.
