You know somebody who's getting old? Well, "Getting Old Sucks!" is for them; a collection of stories and observations from Ernie del Santo, a Chicago-born grandfather, husband, bowler, and a cranky old man with a heart of ... well, not gold; maybe bronze. Ernie tackles life and old age head-on, and sometimes it tackles him back. He likes to quote the Latin phrase "Illegitimus non carborundum est" which means "Don't let the bastards grind you down." Sometimes they do, and Ernie has the scars to prove it. Ernie loves his wife Marie, pasta, his family and friends, his dog Rocky Balboa, and his team The Five Aces. And he doesn't hold his tongue as he tells stories of raising kids, going to the doctor for a 'procedure' (in the chapter "Colonoscopy My Ass"), his bucket list, and hanging out with his friends and teammates for a few laughs ... or to say goodbye to an old friend. If you have six pair of reading glasses and can't find any of them, or if you've ever heard your shoulder crack when you throw the ball to your dog, you know what Ernie means when he says "Getting Old Sucks!"
