God sees worth in terms of what Jesus did on the cross for us. That humongous action and sacrifice produced Righteousness for us, as a gift, for, "God made Him, who knew no sin, to become sin for us, that we might become the Righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5.21 And that is a remarkable, life-changing swap: His Righteousness for our sin! Wow! How can God be so merciful, and Jesus so willing to go all the way to crucifixion on a cross, for us, mere sinners, who don't even seek God in our natural state, until His Spirit draws us unto Himself.
