A Historian's Handbook is for anyone who is interested in reading and discussing ideas in history. It is intended primarily for young teachers of history and for students who are preparing to teach history, at all levels. It comprises suggestions for thinking about history and for teaching it, and two appendices of historical documents. In the first are the texts of 'Sixteen Most Important Documents in American History,' while the second gives a sampling of texts, excerpts, and summaries of important documents in world history.
