His father, bitterly disappointed, struggles with gambling debts, drinking, and poor work performance. When Tom?s grandfather, Phil Swenson, who has been helping the new crew coach around the boathouse, is gravely injured, Tom?s parents turn to an inexperienced financial advisor.
