This book is about the courage and dedication of many unsung heroes of the early Civil Rights Movement. It is a book that tells the story of how one White man had the courage of his convictions to fight for the rights of Blacks in Birmingham, Alabama and through out the South. It is the story of how an ordinary White man with extraordinary courage joined ordinary Blacks to fight together to end injustice and bigotry in the South. It is a book of how he narrowly survived numerous attempts on his life, while the Ku Klux Klan pursued him all over the South.
