Dean Lin grew up in Queens, New York. He is a Mental Health advocate, creator/podcast host of Pretty Gaysic with Dean Lin, and an on-camera personality. Dean has given a TEDx Talk, appeared on BuzzFeed, and directed several short films. You would never guess behind his outgoing, comedic, enthusiastic, and dramatic personality that lights up every room--is the product of his trauma filled childhood, eating disorders, and depression.

In his raw, uncensored memoir, Dean brings to life his experience growing up in an abusive traditional Asian home. After trying to hide from his sexuality for years, Dean's suppressed emotions ultimately led him to develop serious mental health consequences-anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. Intertwining comedy, vulnerability, and life lessons, Dean gives light to how overcoming his traumas and struggles in life has made him the fabulous, glittering, and unapologetically version of himself.

Dean's Way Out is an extremely personal story about acknowledging past hardships, family issues, and mental health-so that you do not allow your past to define your future. It is also a story about being an eating disorder survivor, recovery, and being the best version of yourself despite the world around us, that often convinces us we are not good enough.
