A Father's Passing J.d. Hunnicutt

On Christmas Eve, David received a phone call informing him that his father had suffered a massive heart attack and was dying. Without hesitation, he loaded what he could into his truck and set off to join his family in the hospital where his father laid- over 1200 miles away. It was a journey David was not prepared to undertake. He doubted his truck, his strength and himself. The miles driving through the dark Christmas morning seemed endless, but mere miles were nothing compared to what was to come. As David arrived and his father passed away, he saw that the faith and the church he had so easily cast aside held his family together with a genuine spirit of charity and love. David began to realize how empty his life had truly become without his family and God's love. Over the short days of his odyssey, David faced who he had become and found that God was always there for him despite his transgressions.
