When pianist Steven Lantner, saxophonist Joe Maneri & guitarist Joe Morris embarked on this project, none of them knew how they might sound as a trio. "As we played," writes Steven in his liner notes, "we began to hear how each of our styles might complement the others, bringing things out of each other that hadn't been heard before. I have always been drawn to that place where the known & the unknown meet & mingle, and I have wanted to try to balance on the edge between the two".
