BASIC CHEMICAL SCIENCE is a preparatory textbook for Chemistry. It is highly useful for junior secondary school students aspiring to study Science in the senior school. However, it will also be of great help to senior secondary school students and students in Tertiary institutions who need a basic knowledge of Chemistry. The book begins with an introductory chapter titled "Preparing for Chemistry" which provides useful ideas about what students should expect in the Chemistry ahead. The next ten chapters contain topics that lay a very good foundation for Chemistry. A brief summary follows each chapter for quick review of each topic. After this, each chapter contains exercises for the student to evaluate him/herself. Answer keys are provided to the multiple choice questions. Finally, at the end of all the chapters, there is a model examination, containing fifty questions which comprises all the treated topics. This prepares the student for any Science examination fast approaching.
