Conveyor belts are an essential part of almost every industry of the world these days. They have diversified usage in industry ranging from supply of massive raw materials to the conveyance of fine finished products. Along being a mode of conveyance, conveyer belts can be used for sorting objects also. My research is concerned to the object sorting using techniques of image processing. This task is performed in two steps; passing objects over the conveyor belt and sorting the objects using image processing. First chapter provides details on composition, construction and uses of conveyor belt. Image processing techniques and methods are elaborated in second chapter. Chapter three provides insight on both the CAD and Mathematical Modeling of the prototype machine. A complete experimental setup is explained in chapter fourth which includes mechanical structure, control modules and algorithm used for image processing. Results are summarized in chapter fifth. Recommendations are the important aspect of any research project, chapter sixth renders information on future melioration of this project.
