Lightbringer is a modern fable about courage, sacrifice, and the redemptive power of love.***As Winstanley Jones is born his mother dies from the injuries of birth, and his father also passes on that same bitter night. Winnie's love for Isabelle eventually brings him into a terrible, deadly confrontation with an adversary who has hunted him for the whole of his life.***As a modern fable Lightbringer combines an explicit ethical framework with an unmistakable literary orientation, replete with religious and scriptural allusions. The book is an antidote to the modern misconception that love is essentially a feeling, that it is about getting rather than giving. Although it is not a children's book Lightbringer would be accessible for advanced readers from mid-teens upwards, with special resonance for young men moving into adulthood.
