Blends to Win Common Core Based English Language Arts (ELA) Assessment Booklet was designed as a companion pre and post assessment book for the Blends to Win Reading Programs, however, it can be used independently of the series to pretest students before reading instruction and remediation. This booklet can be used as a tool for writing data driven and more accurate Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs). "Necessity is and always continues to be the mother of invention." The assessment booklet provides information on where students from K-4th grade are functioning in relation to their basic reading skills. It enables teachers to target remediation strategies. The book assesses High Frequency Words (HFW's) K-4th, vowel combos, consonant digraphs, Greek & Latin roots and affixes, homophones, nouns, verbs, subject and predicate identification.
