Why Be World Class? An important Torah concept is "Bishvili nivrah ha'olam," or "The world was created for me." This Torah concept means we have to think and feel deserving of all that life has to offer. Rashi explains in Parshas Lech Lecha (Bereishis 12:1), when Hashem told Avram to go forth "for you," it implies that man should understand that an individual deserves the benefits and pleasures that this world has to offer; the entire world is for you. Every individual must understand that he or she deserves all that the world has to offer. In order to get what you deserve, you have to realize that you deserve it. Everyone can achieve his or her dreams; they simply have to believe they deserve success and then take proper action to make those dreams reality. Simply having images of things you want and to think you deserve is not enough. Believing you deserve those things and taking proper action to get them is how to turn your dream into a reality. To deserve and be motivated towards a goal, you must first think about it, then talk about it, and then act. Only then can it materialize in your life. Thought, speech, and then action is the way to accomplish your goals in life (Tanya, Chapter 4). Your feelings dictate what you think about, and what you think about dictates what you deserve. If you feel great about yourself and about your future, you'll think positive thoughts, and you'll create a great life. Attitude comes first. Having the proper attitude in life turns an ordeal and challenge into an adventure. Having a world class attitude will give you a world class life: a life free from worry and free from doubt. Living a positive life with a positive attitude is the best way to make sure your time on this Earth is fulfilling and meaningful.
