Someone tortured and murdered George William Kirk, an electrician, in his van parked at a Washington DC strip club. A gruesome death with a distinct signature, Detective Reginald Moynihan enlists the help of FBI Special Agents Sean Murphy and Charley Faraday. Later, the wife of an US Army combat veteran discovers her husband dead in their barn with a comparable signature. After a third murder of another veteran, the investigation becomes a marathon to learn the identity of a possible fourth victim. Murphy and Charley chase a vicious murderer with different killing styles from Washington DC, to Casper, Wyoming, to St. Louis, Missouri, and back east to Covington, Georgia, to apprehend a deranged psychopath who leaves behind brutalized victims. Is this person a serial killer or does he have a list and why? Charley, Murphy, and Detective Moynihan spare nothing to solve and find this heinous criminal. Even though the mode of murder varies, what the murderer takes from the victims is as deviant as the signature.
