Multiple shootings and deaths keep occurring in every part of the country, from Georgia to California, from Michigan to Texas. The dead and the shooters are often children. The dead and the shooters are often members of the same family: parents, aunts and uncles, siblings, and mates. The dead and the shooters are often friends and acquaintances. Neighbors on the same block cry "What is the world coming to" Many persons respond to shootings with a shrug or a strong door, apparently assuming that a shrug will prevent injury and that a strong door will stop a high powered bullet. Many people simply say "Our society's a mess" or "We'd better buy a gun for protection" Fear captures our lives because ordinary people stop trying to live otherwise. We want to stop that fear and change that attitude.
