Makeba's New Adventures is based upon growing up and starting school. It is a short story, that deals with the first time anxieties of a young expectation of living and working with others. The young lady in the book grows up well refined and disciplined. She is raised to be independent, and to take note of herself worth. To know who she is, and what is expected to her from her family strong will to survive. The Makeba adventure is one of a learning process, discovering her ancestry and family roots. She learns of her ancestral homeland of Africa and its fine principles based on faith, purpose, and unity within a community.
