Sid sees everything. The blue sight lets her see the smallest details of her environment; the red sight tracks her enemies; the black sight lets her relive her past with perfect clarity; and the gold sight shows her things she never before believed to be real. Sid didn't ask for the technology that makes her sight possible, and hasn't quite figured out how to control it, but must learn quickly in the war-evolved metropolis known as the Seventh City. The city's lowest level is a perpetual warzone filled with dangerous creatures and lost secrets unlike anything Sid has seen before. Underworld's factions have set their ambitions on the upper echelons of the city with the promise of more wealth, more slaves and more power, but a former militia ranger opposes them in the name of the godlike Elementals. Sid refuses to stand by and watch as chaos engulfs the city, but must first survive Underworld and a terrifying Revenant that's become obsessed with her.
